My Students

My students are a unique blend of diverse learners stemming from the City of Brotherly Love. There are so many things that I would love to do with my STEM students, but I don't have the resources.

My students are striving for greatness and need more materials to reach their goals.

Girls out number boys in our school. The lack of funds given to our STEM program needs to be rectified. Often times the students and I recycle items. There are some basic necessities we still need.

My Project

Engineering is important for developing critical thinking and problem solving skills for students in the 21st Century. The students can use littleBits kit to make 100s of different designs and inventions. Last year, my students did amazing projects and completed difficult challenges using only recycled materials. They are hungry for more opportunities to feed their growing minds.

According to Bruce Wexler, a professor of psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine, "the right kind of early interventions can change a child's educational future.

Because our neuro-systems are not wired at birth, they can be profoundly influenced by the type of stimulation and activity they receive growing up."

The jobs my students will be applying for require them to be lifelong learners, who continue to develop the skills they need in an ever changing world. We need to give our students the best opportunities possible to meet the needs of our future jobs. LittleBits is a great product to help elementary students fall in love with innovation and science. It will allow my students to take the basic understanding they have and elaborate and explore ideas in the context of real world challenges.
