Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am fortunate enough to be a reading specialist, which means I work with a wide range of learners across various grades. I work with 10 different classrooms, supporting teaching, and performing intervention groups. As I do this work, I am noticing that our more struggling students seem to need a more sensory approach to the learning process. They crave hands on, tactile experience. I am doing the best I can with the resources that I have, but I can tell it is still not enough of what they need.

This order is for a variety of tools that will provide hands-on, multisensory experiences to help solidify their literacy skills.

There are paint board to blend visual and kinesthetic needs, ball grips, a sensory bin, and grippy games to build hand strength for pencil grip, and tactile letters to reinforce letter and number formation. I work with over 100 students, so thee resources will be put to good use, and support a lot of children.
