My Students

I teach kindergarten in a high need community. My school is a Title I school where most of our students receive free or reduced lunch. Despite our needs, I hold high expectations for all of my students.

As teachers, we are pushed to the max to teach reading and math most of our instructional day.

Everything we do must revolve around literacy concepts. While I feel this is very important, science and social studies sometimes get swept under the rug. Science in the early education classroom needs to be very hands-on for students to explore and begin to wrap their brains around what are often very complex subjects.

My Project

This is where I need your help. My students deserve to learn about our world and the way things work. I am requesting hands on centers and manipulatives that will allow my students to explore magnets, sound, colors and textures. My students will love these new additions to our classroom.

I want to thank you in advance for making it possible for my children to explore and learn through science.
