My Students

My students are creative and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! My students come to school each day ready to learn. They are a pleasure to work with.

My Project

Help me give my students tools that will enhance their reading fluency. Many students struggle in blending sounds to read words. This year, many first graders will come into school for the first time due to the pandemic. I want to provide engaging materials for my students to help them become better readers. With these exciting match-ups, children master CVC words one phoneme at a time! Kids select a word card and touch the textured dots as they say each sound. Then they read the full word—and find its matching picture card! These activities will help students build up to 300 words. The hands-on flipbooks help students match letters, blends, and digraphs with ending sounds.
