My Students

How would I describe my students? They are leaders, creators, innovators, and most importantly, our future. My students are the most deserving students. These young scholars are in an area of the city that is high in poverty and has high homeless rates.

Often times, my students experience major losses due to violence-specifically gun violence and they have a difficult time processing these emotions and feelings.

My students have experienced the loss of a parent due to incarceration and they have a challenging time navigating the process of having having one parent present.

They face so many outside issues and still expected to come to school and perform. My students are resilient and will succeed despite their individual circumstances.

My Project

Having these items would allow my students to have a fully equipped school counselor that is able to teach positive behaviors, appropriate coping skills, and social emotional development. These are some areas that will allow them to be successful in the classroom and in the world.

It is important for my students to know that when they come into my office, I will be able to help them solve problems and deal with big emotions.

I love all of my students and it is my hope that they are able to get what they need from me as their counselor.
