Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are bright and happy learners. My hope is to ensure they are described as such for many years to come so, to kick off their very first experience in school, I’d like to brighten up my classroom space with colorful seating and an incentive treasure box that they can choose from weekly. In addition to tables where they will be learning to write stories and calculate simple equations, my kids need alternative cozy seating for relaxing with a few good books. It would be great to have a classroom nook.

My Project

Pre-schoolers are all about getting low to the floor. Most activities take place with students sitting in a circle on the floor. These little cozy chairs can be carried anywhere in the school for my kiddos to sit comfortably on the floor while maintaining a safe distance from each other. The little seats will make a big impact on how long children can sit comfortably for a read aloud or activity. It's important for little ones to build stamina and focus for future learning and this is one step in the right direction.
