My Students

“You can teach a student a lesson for a day; but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives." - Clay P. Bedford

I teach a large kindergarten class of 20+ eager and ready to learn five year olds.

My students come from a rural, low economic area near the coast of South Carolina. They attend a large elementary school that houses prekindergarten through fifth grade. My students are always excited to learn new things.

My Project

This project requests hands-on materials and books about life cycles including Life Science and Stick-On Pocket Chart Kits, , one The Butterfly Nursery, Life Cycles, Plants and Insects Book Libraries and live caterpillars. My students will learn about life cycles by hearing informative texts read aloud to them. They will be able to show their knowledge by completing activities using the pocket chart kits and share what they have learned with the class. They will also be able to get hands-on experience with life cycles by watching as the caterpillars we receive grow, change into chrysalises, and then turn into butterflies.

By donating to this project, you will give my kindergarten students a priceless experience.

They will be able to read and learn about life cycles while actually watching a life cycle occur right before their eyes. T hey will never forget this experience and the lessons they learn!
