My Students

Schools today are woefully underfunded and these trying times make it even harder to support students the way we would like. Nevertheless, I work in a school where the students enter the classroom eager and excited to learn. I am proud of all my students - of their hard work, their commitment to their learning (even at this age), their thoughtfulness, and perseverance. They are truly wonderful!

Children need a comfortable place to sit when they're on the floor in a small group or listening to a story.

Children really love to gather together in a group to listen to a story, or simply to be together. Sometimes I feel they prefer sitting on the floor rather than at their desks. However, when we do have to gather together, having to directly sit on the floor is not an ideal situation.

My Project

Students love to gather together and teachers sometimes need them to do so for a variety of reasons. The hard floor, however, is not ideal and prevents such gathering. The floor is cold, hard, and uncomfortable. The kids fidget because they're not comfortable and they're unable to concentrate because of this.

Floor cushions are a sanitary and comfortable way for students to sit on the floor.

Having the cushions will allow for more group work and whole-class reading, which is crucial during this period of development. It will have a direct impact on the day's activities and learning.
