Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This is an after-school enrichment program that will have a mixture of general and special education students. The program gives students choice of different clubs to join for enrichment. This program is for students in my class as well as the rest of the school to join a club based on their interest and teacher talents offered.

My school is a 3k-5th grade school. In this low-income based school, we catered to a variety of backgrounds but, mostly low-income families. As a school community we are trying to prepare our students for the future during their most primitive years.

My Project

In after-school, one program I am teaching is Video Production, that will focus on all aspects of video production: generating video ideas, story boards, script, filming, editing, and publishing. The videos will be seen throughout the school that reference PBIS positive behavior, cultural videos, and entertainment videos.

Due to the pandemic, students haven't had many outlets to create or develop their talents in other ways other than academics.

Also, due to social media like Tik-tok or Instagram, etc., I thought it will be a good way for students to really know what it takes to make and create visual stories.

Video Production will allow students to be creative but conscious of the content they create. As well as build crucial skills that may develop as careers later in their lives.
