This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kinder kids are awesome! They are inquisitive, eager, silly, and kind. I love to see my kids faces when I truly see them engaged and excited about learning something new. I work in a Title I school with limited funding. Many of my students live in poverty and barely get the opportunity to leave their neighborhood. And now due to the coronavirus many students won't even leave their homes. My students learn in many ways and I want to provide them with as many meaningful learning experiences as possible. I am asking for support in purchasing technology I need to deliver the best online lessons during virtual learning. It's very possible we will teach the entire year virtually due to the covid-19 cases in Texas and I want to ensure all my students make growth and enjoy learning during these difficult times.

My Project

I am seeking hands-on materials to increase my student engagement throughout the day and provide hands-on learning opportunities for both my inperson and virtual students. I plan to use these materials in all subjects to help my students understand and retain what I am teaching by creating a bag for each student with some of each material requested. Due to Covid 19, I teach my virtual and in-person students at the same time. This has many challenges, but I've found by being able to send home the supplies to each virtual child in advance of each assignment allows students at home to experience a normal classroom activity.

At school ,we can no longer share materials and must social distance all the time.

My students have been doing wonderfully at keeping their masks on and socially distant. But due to that each student needs their own set of materials. I can no longer have them rotate through stations and share materials. Instead I must make individual sets or bags for every activity or station I want them to work on or practice. This is the only way to make learning fun and engaging for my students. These are my reason for needing the materials requested.
