My Students

Do you remember what it's like to be a child and to be super curious about the world around you? Well that's how my Kindergarten students are every day.

My students are sweet, curious, eager to learn 5 year old children.

Our school is in a rural area with a great sense of community. We are a Title 1 school. Half of the students in our school receive free or reduced lunch. My students are growing and learning daily, however with your help they will be fully immersed in fun with their learning, making their learning more meaningful.

My Project

With the new Common Core State Standards in place, our school/district has a solid foundation for teaching reading and math. However, science and social studies are not a big focus. Children need to understand the world around them. I have used Time for Kids magazines in the past and it is an awesome teaching tool for teaching science and social studies. The magazines are written with young children in mind. They are colorful and grasp their attention. Topics in them are applicable to the world around us, yet presented in a fun way. Additionally, the students will be encouraged to read, thus strengthening their literacy skills. I am requesting 26 copies of TIME For Kids magazine for my students to read.

Your donation to our project will help my kindergarten students explore the world around them and encourage their curiosity.

Exploration of current events and science topics geared to them will help them blossom into well rounded children. Thank you for your consideration in helping fund our project!
