Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work in a District Pre-K Center that has many immigrant families. The majority of my students all speak different languages and are just learning English. It can be scary to come to a new country, with a new language to learn, into a new school. There are lots of emotions happening and it can be difficult for my students and their families to express their needs and wants due to language barriers.

It is my hope that getting educational games, learning toys, and social-emotional materials will help my students be able to communicate with each other and their teachers.

I am asking for an early childhood magazine and digital subscription for each child that they can take home and learn with their families. I am asking for many language-building learning materials, toys, games, and puzzles. I am asking for social-emotional materials to help the children express their feelings and learn social skills through play. With ink and paper, I will make and print materials in their language as well as English that they can utilize to communicate and learn from.

We would greatly appreciate your help in making so many transitions easier for my students. We would love it if you helped us get the learning materials my students need to learn English and academic skills. Thank you in advance for any help you can give!
