Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
My students started the year with an extremely low supply of materials that are vital for the expression and development of creativity which is one of the priorities in Kindergarten. These supplies are now gone and we are having to borrow from other classrooms around the school.
The students that attend my school come from very low socioeconomic background.
Most of their parents do not have the means to provide them with enrichment experiences or materials at home, so this duty is left up to our community schools. Unfortunately, our classrooms are not always equipped with the proper materials. Although their tiny little hands are limited by the hardships faced by their families, they come to school with their best smile and determination to succeed.
My Project
My number one priority for this project, is to provide my students with hands-on learning materials since it is the best way to teach five and six-year-old. I have requested an assorted variety of arts and crafts materials that will allow my little ones to create different seasonal and thematic activities and collages.
I have also included markers, crayons, paints, ink pads, paint brushes and paint dabbers that will be placed in the writing and creativity center for the students to use when doing class projects. We will also need lots of construction paper that is why I have requested a wide variety of colors that will be used to create story illustrations and life cycles for our science and GT lessons. As you can see, these materials are an absolute necessity for the development of a young mind.
We live in a world where creativity and imagination have surpassed unimaginable boundaries.
I invite you to help me in being a part of the development of these little inquisitive minds. Children at this age learn through hands-on activities that give them an opportunity to explore and discover. The materials that I have requested will indeed meet this objective. Please help me get them ready to go where their imagination will take them.
