My Students

We are in a rural farming area and our school serves the surrounding communities. We draw students from over 188 square miles.

Our staff’s mission is to embrace best practices in a technological world in order to prepare the children for learning across their lifetime.

Our school improvement efforts this year will focus on the development of 21st century learners. To continue the implementation of Illinois Early Learning and Development Standards, students will engage in higher-order thinking, problem solving, and collaborative learning.

My Project

These materials are designed to spark imagination and problem solving during free play and small group time. The magnetic board, tunnel, track and gears allow the children to use trial and error to construct a path for balls or gears to make their way to the bottom of the maze. The children can reconfigure these materials in a multitude of ways allowing the children flexibility and creativity. Other manipulatives such as ramps, balls and cars test their critical thinking skills by encouraging building and experimenting how the height and weight of the ball effect the speed of the rolling ball.

Preschool children learn best with hands-on activities and freedom to experiment with materials.

In our classroom children are given the daily opportunities to embrace science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
