My Students

Do you remember what it was like to receive your first magazine subscription? I have 30 highly gifted students who love to read and do research. I teach at a school in the inner-city and with budget cuts we face challenges that limit our resources to educational materials.

I have 30 articulate and highly motivated students who attend a magnet school in California.

They are extremely bright and love to read! They are currently being taught advanced reading, math, science, and history and would to love to receive their very own reading magazine that would enable them to attain additional knowledge that would help them especially in writing. They also love to research different topics, current events, and unknown words. They would to be able to do this by having access an encyclopedia DVD.

My Project

My students need 30 Scholastic Magazine subscriptions for weekly reading and an Encyclopedia DVD for classroom research for the 2011-12 school year. The Scholastic magazine subscription is a great magazine with a plethora of information that my students will enjoy. By receiving this magazine my students will be able to have classroom discussions and also be able to share the magazines with their families and have educational discussions about different subjects. The encyclopedia DVD will serve as a resource for my students research on class projects. It is very important for my students to be able to see pictures and examples as they are visual learners.

This project is very important to my students and will make a huge difference in our classroom.

They are very deserving and will appreciate the magazines and encyclopedia DVD immensely. They will use both and a daily basis.
