This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Coloring is very beneficial for the development of fine motor skills.

It’s more than creating a colorful preschool work of art.

When a child holds a crayon, they are working on the strength of the muscles of the hand that are essential for handwriting, letter formation, and using scissors in the future. Coloring allows children to explore a writing utensil that is fun and creative. Coloring inspires creativity. A blank piece of paper and a box of crayons can inspire stories and pictures. Being creative allows a child to build their self-confidence. My Pre-kindergarten students come from a high poverty community that encounters economic challenges every day.

My Project

I want to be able to provide my students with essential supplies needed to sparkle their talents and creativity.

Having a variety of art materials in the classroom will facilitate the creative process in young children.

Using different types of paints, such as water color, dot a painters and sensory paint, will allow students to build in their concentration skills. The use of crayons will help with hand-eye coordination and the practice needed to learn how to hold a pencil. Besides reinforcing the learning of colors and color words. And definitively will inspire children to build their self-confidence required to succeed in school.
