Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My leadership students are learning how to be leaders, so we have decided to lead the way to a cleaner-looking campus! Unfortunately, many of our students don't dispose of their garbage in trash cans and tend to throw it on the ground. Leadership students want to make our campus more attractive by picking up all the litter we can find during our hours together. Once students see how much nicer it is to be on a litter-free campus, we hope that more students will begin throwing their trash away properly. We also plan a "caught being a good citizen" campaign where students who throw away their trash properly receive incentives.

With these grabbers, trash bags, vests, and gloves, we believe we can make a positive difference in our school community.

Having neat and clean surroundings can make a positive impact on our student body's focus and attitudes toward school, and might even result in more positive mindsets and achievement in class! I know that when my house is clean, for example, I feel better about everything. This project can go a long way toward improving the mindsets of our student body! Not only will our campus look nicer, but my leadership students will be proud to have made a difference in the collective health and wellness of our campus community.
