My Project

A quality read-aloud has, and will continue to captivate students of all ages. Reading aloud is a way to teach life lessons, calm over-stimulated students, and help introduce concepts related to reading and writing instruction.

Students deserve to have access to current children's literature based on values such as creating friendships, perseverance, celebrating differences, and feeling a sense of community.

I began my teaching career over 20 years ago. I have recently returned to teaching after a long break, and I would like to update my read-aloud library to include more current books that represent a more diverse culture and subject matter.
