This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My AP English Literature students are incredibly driven and curious about the world around them. With every story we read, they ask thoughtful and insightful questions about the literature and the thematic ideas explored within.

They are dedicated students who are incredibly voracious readers, so much so that this year I have two sections of AP English Literature rather than the one section that I usually have.

Each year, part of our study involves having the students work in groups to study a novel of their choice. With two sections, I will need more novels to offer as options for them to read. I want to make sure that they are able to choose from acclaimed novels with diverse perspectives that challenge their perspectives and ask them to think more deeply about the world around them.
