My Project

For many assessments, my 10th and 12th grade students would prefer to complete a hands-on project that goes with their books.

Help my students and I continue to “lit (literature), laugh, and love” as we work towards raising literacy rates and falling back in love with reading.

I would love to be able to offer my students more engaging assessment materials so they can get a break from the Chromebooks and instead feel empowered to make projects of their own.

I plan to use these classroom materials by offering the students a variety of scaffolded assessment options that include poster-making, characterization charts, acting out scenes from a play, or teaching their own lesson about the topic/literature to the class.

Also, I know the seniors often reach burnout, or “senioritis”, and these types of projects often help renew their motivation!
