This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Back to School" has a new meaning this year: new grade level at a new school site! I'm excited to introduce to you my 5th grade all-stars! They are a true joy to work with. My students have a desire and love for learning and reading that I can't wait to tap into.

I knew I had a special class when it came time to choose books for independent reading.

They all went crazy with excitement, waiting to visit Mrs. G's personal library with eagerness and anticipation. The future sure does look bright in our classroom. My students are thirsty for knowledge, and I can't wait to quench that thirst through the love of reading and learning!

My Project

Students will get to dive into five different books this year. In small groups or "book clubs", they will get to read, discuss, and go beyond the four walls of our classroom into worlds they've never ventured into. By helping us reach our project goal, you are putting five new books into the hands of every child in my classroom. We need sets of Literature Circle books to help build upon their love for reading and open up worlds of imagination and possibility! Our titles include When You Reach Me, Maniac Magee, Where the Red Fern Grows and more.

Together, we can make reading become a powerful tool of the imagination, offering opportunities that only the power of words can provide.

Each Literature Circle book set will be rotated among small groups of students throughout the school year, making your donation one that will last for years to come!
