Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a group of fourth grade students who are very smart and inquisitive. They work hard and are very resilient.

The school is 100% economically disadvantaged and many of my students feel more at home at school than any other place.

Many of my students are facing various obstacles at their homes.

These problems often find their way into our learning environment. The pandemic has made life even more challenging for many.

My Project

My students need to see various genres of text. Since we are learning virtually, it has been difficult to keep reading fun and engaging for them. I want to provide book of various level for my students to practice and enjoy.

I want to instill in my students that reading can be fun and it is very important to ensure a successful future.

Many of my students are English language learners and they would benefit from having access to books at home. I could deliver books to my students that interest them and would give them the practice they need to become fluent readers.
