Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our classroom needs your help in unlocking our literacy potential! The pandemic really impacted our literacy skills proficiency and we need materials that reflect our current learning needs and allow all students to feel successful while growing. This project has everything I need to target my students' current literacy strengths and accelerate our learning across all content areas.

The books will be utilized in small group instruction and interventions.

Whiteboards, whiteboard supplies, and card stock will be utilized to annotate and formatively assess student learning. The document camera will allow me to largely display text for all students to see and have access to.

This year we are in year two of our science curriculum and starting with a brand new social studies curriculum. These curriculums lack hands-on experience. The blank books, Play-Doh tools, and books will provide the missing STEM experiences and provide students with multiple ways to demonstrate their learning. Students can have a choice in how they best show their learning through journaling, drawing, or creating.

This classroom project will support us in taking our learning beyond reading and into application across math, social studies, science, engineering, and writing.
