My Students

My dance students from Harlem, NY are kids who love to move and jam when it comes to learning different types of dances that I teach. They also love playing music which as a Latin percussionist myself, I am able to teach.

I've always told my students that dance and music tend to be related with one another because movement in any form can express music in everyones own personal expression.

With that in mind, my students love to dance and express themselves especially when it comes to Salsa dancing which is a big part of their neighborhood.

My Project

These books will continue to enhance the scholars at my school when it comes to their dance education. Being that many things are being done remotely this year, it would be great to have these books read aloud while streaming to all the scholars who are in remote and in person at my school. It will be a nice addition to the dance room library as well for any scholar to read and borrow when schools are all back to in person in the near future.

By having a dance library, scholars will be able to learn the many different types of dances there are in the world and learn the different cultures that pertain to that dance.

They can also explore the different stories related to dance that these books will provide.
