My Project

We will be introducing a small library for the students in PASCS Elementary to “focus on the development of a culture of reading, support reading for learning and personal enjoyment, and provide opportunities for learners to read for pleasure” (American Association of School Librarians).

We want to spread the love of reading to all of our students and the freedom to choose books based on their interests!

The PASC teachers believe that all students should have accessibility to a school library, filled with books they will remember forever.

The academic impact of this project will be three-fold: It will encourage literary fluency and develop positive relationships surrounding reading, provide students who lack resources at home equal access to high-interest books, and increase projected growth in literacy skills.
