My Students

I have 20 five and six year old students in my kindergarten classroom. Being in a lower income area, many have additional challenges typical kindergarteners are not faced with. These challenges, in addition to many not having attended preschool, create additional obstacles I face each day when working with my students.

My students are excited about learning and aim to please me each day.

They work hard to learn new concepts as I work equally hard to create lessons that are engaging and exciting for them. Providing evolving technology will provide my students with new ways to engage in learning and decrease educational gaps.

My Project

Giving low-income students access to new technology is an investment in their future. We work hard to learn how to read. Providing evolving technology through iPad apps will provide my students with new ways to engage and learn to read and decrease gaps in reading levels. Students can choose activities based on their personal interest and skill levels, which will then boost learning while having fun! Seeing students read for the first time, and the smile on their face when they read is the best sight a teacher can see! I love watching students READ for the first time!
