My Students

Our classroom is our home away from home. We all come together as a community for lessons and fun activities. However, our resources are limited. We are in need of tools to help meet the needs of each individual learner in our classroom.

Our students come from a wide range of cultures and families.

In our classroom, we are one big family and we are part of a larger school community. Some students struggle with daily academic skills, especially those students who find traditional learning activities difficult. My students need the option of fun, alternative activities and lessons to support their learning styles.

My Project

These literacy materials will help to engage and motivate our lower-level readers. In our class, we have many students reading below grade level for a variety of reasons - some students need extra support, some students are English language learners, and some students are struggling with early literacy skills. Our students can stamp their sight words into the Playdoh to spell them out. Having 2 sets of stamps will allow many students to engage in this activity at the same time. Having more exciting and interesting books in our library at levels A through F will give students the opportunity to choose books that they want to read.

These materials will engage students in learning and will make them WANT to learn how to read!
