My Project

My students have a love for literacy. Whether it's reading a book in the class library, using our Toniebox to listen to audio books, or participating in a whole class read aloud, they are eager to read every day. Using headphones in our classroom listening area, students are able to hear stories in a quiet and non-distracting way.

The supplies I am requesting will provide my students opportunities to strengthen their current literacy skills and continue to build a strong literacy foundation for Kindergarten and beyond.

The Toniebox audio listening area allows for students to be independent readers. Many of the Toniebox characters are familiar to my students. They recognize the characters from class storybooks and are interested in hearing the stories and songs that go with them independently. I would like to build our class Toniebox collection by providing more variety in the audiobook options. For example, The Tonies Yeti character will allow us to record up to 90 minutes of our own stories and songs. This could allow families and teachers to share their favorite stories with the class.

The c.d. and cassette player with bluetooth option will allow more of our current classroom resources to be used. We will be able to use the bluetooth option to connect stories from our class tablets to be shared by multiple students at once. C.D.'s and cassette tapes can continue to be relevant. In addition, students will be able to listen and follow along using the corresponding books to see pictures and the written story.

The store and charge station will help us to safely organize and charge our reading/listening devices so they are ready for use daily.
