Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am lucky to serve 40 amazing students in speech therapy. They work hard and play hard and I would like to make this year extra special for them. They love reading new books every week and working toward their goals.

My Project

In most of my speech therapy sessions, you will find me and my students diving into a good book. I love watching my students develop a love for reading and stories while working on language skills, practicing speech sounds, and discussing social communication.

I have chosen a variety of books that I know will engage my students and help them grow.

With the Teachers Pay Teachers funds, I will be able to buy speech-therapy specific book units for my students. These book units provide materials to target practically everything, including comprehension, describing characters and illustrations, vocabulary, inferences, predictions, sequencing, and grammar.

This library of books will provide my students with a love of learning and a fun way to work toward their goals. The digital materials provided will be used for years to come and will be invaluable for both virtual and in-person learners.
