Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are members of a community that cares about their overall well-being and wish to see them succeed in education. The community is great at making sure that students arrive at school on-time and ready to learn each day. They also help to make sure that students complete homework and are striving to be their best.

My students are safe, respectful, and responsible.

They come to school ready to learn and are growing more independent with each new day.

My Project

My second grade students all have different reading abilities. Some are reading at, or above grade level, while some are reading a level below. For those at grade level we have a classroom library with a multitude of leveled books. For those reading below grade level, the choices are sparse.

I wish for all of my readers to have a multitude of books to choose from.

If students have a choice of what they want to read, they are more willing to try. If they are successful at that level, they will want to read more and will begin to feel successful in reading.

Having an ipod in class daily will ensure that students are given opportunities to practice literacy, and math skills. The case will keep it protected.
