Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
I teach in a Title I school, and I believe we have some of the hardest working students. Due to the pandemic and other variables, students this year need more intense learning opportunities as possible. Many of my students come from single-parent or low-income families. Although some of the families cannot afford to enrich and expose their children with various opportunities, I believe that along with support from myself, our school, and our community, this will not hinder them to excel. I witness them working very hard to meet goals and standards that are put in front of them each and every day.
My Project
Our students have been affected by so much recently from experience school routine delays due to Covid-19 and now in Texas, we are experiencing a winter storm that has caused my students to miss a week a school. Our district has not completely rolled out the virtual learning model but even if that were so, the majority of the state lost electricity at various points.
I have noticed that with everything going on the greatest impact has been to students literacy progression.
It is my goal with adding these workbooks to our classroom routine and home study that my students will be able increase their reading and literacy progression. I am exciting that to see this project be brought to life and even more grateful for the opportunity to help my students close this gap in their learning.
