This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have pretty reluctant readers in my fifth grade. Getting them to read anything, much less in Spanish, is quite the challenge. However, in a dual immersion school biliteracy, or the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in two different languages is the primary goal.

Help me give my students engaging Spanish language books that will inspire a love of literacy.

Sure, we have Spanish curriculum, but what these kids want is to be able to read the things they already enjoy in English. I have the English versions of these particular books, but I don't have them also in Spanish. Please help us get these materials.
