This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you will go!" Our students love reading and reading is key to their success. Help our future doctors, teachers, lawyers, scientists and more discover the wonders of reading!

At our school, we call our students Advocates because we believe our students are change agents.

Our school serves students in Grades 5-8 and we need books for our students! Our students prove what's possible and we want to continue to push their growth. They have big dreams and we want to help them achieve those dreams through reading. Our students need access to interesting and culturally relevant books to push their reading growth and help our school grow a strong culture of reading.

My Project

Have you ever heard a child say, "I don't like to read?" That's not true! All students love to read but some of them haven't yet found the book that will make that fall in love with reading. As a teacher it's my job to help them find that book. Many of my students are English Language Learners who are two or more years below grade level. They crave interesting books to engage the reader within them!

All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind.

These are stories that will not only foster that love of reading but also help them grow their reading level and ultimately help prepare them for high school and college. Every child deserves to live a life of choice and reading is an important building block to help get them there!
