My Students

My school is nestled in a historic area in Houston. This makes my school truly special and unique. Because of its rich history and its location, my school is a haven for both knowledge and cultural heritage.

My students come from diverse backgrounds, and each day, they bring into our classroom their various experiences, challenges, and joys.

These create a colorful tapestry for the learning that takes place in this Title I school. Their eagerness and enthusiasm to learn inspire me to continue to seek ways to make their journey in education more meaningful!

My Project

Our school continues to gain academic success with the implementation of Literacy in the Middle, our district curriculum which was first implemented last year. This curriculum requires students to engage in various work station activities that focus on their growth and development as readers and writers in this fast-paced age of technology.

One of the essential components of this curriculum is the use of digital resources in which many of our developing readers learn the foundation of reading and writing through various apps, programs, and websites.

The laptop, printer, and ink cartridges I am requesting will be a reliable addition to our technology station. It will allow my students to research, access educational websites, as well as create projects that challenge their creativity and depth as readers and writers in this digital age. These devices will be an integral part of my instruction to cater to my students' learning styles and will help them cope with the demands of learning in this era of technological advancement. It will allow me to differentiate lessons and integrate various intervention practices that will help all of my students, regardless of their instructional levels.

The generous donations to this project will equip my classroom with reliable technological devices, specifically a laptop and a printer, that will ensure the availability of these resources that will allow them to research, log-in to educational websites, and create computer-based projects that are reflective of the inevitable fusion of Literacy and Technology in pursuit of academic success and excellence!
