My Project

As a teacher, a live butterfly kit paired with butterfly life cycle books would be an invaluable tool for nurturing my young students' curiosity and fostering a deeper understanding of science and literacy. Watching a caterpillar transform into a butterfly is an awe-inspiring experience that sparks wonder and excitement in young minds. By combining this hands-on observation with engaging books that detail the butterfly's life cycle, students not only build their knowledge of biological concepts but also strengthen their literacy skills through storytelling, vocabulary building, and comprehension. The interactive nature of this lesson helps students make real-world connections to what they read, igniting their enthusiasm for both learning and discovery. It’s a powerful way to promote critical thinking, stimulate creativity, and inspire a lifelong love for science and reading. My students from ten years ago remember the butterflies they helped grow. They remember these hands-on experiences Thank you for your support.
