This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students attend a title one school in Richmond, Virginia. All of the students who attend our school receive free breakfast and lunch. My students are amazing kids who are constantly exceeding the goals and expectations I have set for them. Instead of reaching for the stars they are becoming the stars.
My first graders are wordsmiths, little walking thesauruses , and vocabulary masters.
They love working with words and reading. They are very hard workers and are excited about learning.
My Project
Our literacy and math stations help my students review important skills needed to be successful in first grade and beyond. My students work in their literacy and math stations daily. They work very hard to take care of station materials but our games still go through a lot of wear and tear.
Having our games printed on card stock and laminated will allow my students to get longer use out of each station activity.
The materials I am requesting will help us get more and better use of our stations. We need our stations to last throughout the school year.
