Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class is made up of 26 low-income students, 12 girls and 14 boys. I have 8 English language learners who need total physical response and other visual, and or auditory scaffolds to increase their English language development. The rest of my students are reclassified English learners. As a 1 to 1 iPad school, the students have become literate in utilizing multiple applications like iMovie, and Keynote. They are enthusiastic and highly motivated by technology, which is enhancing their learning tremendously.

My Project

Learning at home has been difficult for students because they do not have the appropriate leveled books at home to read. I want students to be able to read physical books and enhance their fluency and comprehension.

Please help provide my students with these chapter books that encourage literacy and demonstrate how characters use math in their daily lives.

Students can easily connect to the characters and enjoy reading these books about kids their own age. In addition, these chapter books encourage comprehension skills and help students analyze author's use of craft techniques.
