This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Many of our students often do not have the opportunity to have their work showcased for those to see. Many of our students have a variety of special needs that involve multisensory needs that need to be addressed in a variety of ways. In their learning environments they need to be surrounded by climates that are clean and healthy to ensure that they have healthy immune systems to ensure that they are in school every day. They come from low socioeconomic homes where they do not have access to many learning materials and as a result see the school environment as a safe space for them to turn to. Our display wall looks to create an environment that students flock to which incorporates multisensory needs along with visual displays for their hard work.
With classroom basics such as grass wall panels, led light strips and tools we can build a maker space station to create a visually exciting display area while also allowing students to feel excited by having a comfortable climate display within the library.
In doing so, we are able to create a welcoming climate where students find an exciting reading environment where students want to come. This will draw more students to the library that will want to engage in a variety of reading materials in a comfortable space.
