Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Many of my students are one, two or even three grades below what they should be reading at. Videos will help them to interpret and analyze important historical events that have impacted our society. My biggest challenge is lack of materials that are on their grade level.

My students are the greatest.

Despite their challenges they face at home, they come in yearning for knowledge. Many of them have difficulty learning by reading. For them, in order to succeed, they need to learn by watching. These videos will provide the necessary instruction needed for them to succeed. My school is a high needs high poverty area school. For many of my students, they will be the first ones graduating eighth grade. For others, they will be the first to go to high school. Many are surrounded by negative energy and obstacles. By donating to my project, you are showing my students that the public is interested and share a genuine concern for them. You are saying that they are important in society and that they have every right to learn despite challenges they may face. You are giving them an opportunity for a very important freedom....knowledge.

My Project

Many of my students are below grade level. Reading articles that are common core approved are challenging for them. By having these videos on American history, American documents and government, my students will be able to see history in a whole new light. My students will be able to analyze important historical events and connect these events to their lives. By making connections such as these, my students will be able to see how history plays a role in everyday life. Learning about their rights will help them become more educated, citizens of our great country. My students will not only be learning information about Social Studies, but will be able to apply this relevant information to their everyday lives. My students will be able to visually see the connections that they read about in class. They will see history come to life.

Many of my students do not have solid, strong family background.

Many of my students come from single-family homes in which their parents work two or three jobs. Education is not something that is stressed as important. By donating to my project, you will show my students that education is important and they are important. You will be showing my students that people do care about them and how they turn out. You will be an active participant in their learning and future.
