Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a fun-loving, eager group of 6 and 7-year-olds. They were fully remote last year and are returning to the classroom. Most of my students are English Language Learners where English is not spoken in the home. My school is a Title I school.

My Project

With the pandemic, most of my students are below grade level in reading. They are not able to independently read books that they have an interest in. This can be frustrating for young readers. I do not want my students to become disinterested in reading because they can't independently access stories of interest. These books on CD will allow my students to listen to the story read aloud to them while they have the book in their hands. This way I know they will be able to comprehend the books and they will be able to read what interests them!
