Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a cluster teacher, teaching computers to children in grades K - 5. I teach in a high-need community in New York. I service both general and special education students.

I service about a 100 different students per week. I am in a situation where I am unable to let the students listen to stories and phonic programs at the same time during a single class period because they get distracted from all the noise from the other computers in the room. They are eager to delve into this aspect of the technology because it allow them to focus on what hey are doing. Last year my kindergarten students loved to go to Starfall.com and listen to letters sounds and stories that went along with them. To much noise from the other computers in the room made it difficult for them to get much out of the program.

These headphone will help a great deal this year in helping the student focus on their goals. The headphones will allow for more differentiated learning in my classroom. As the students progress with leaning the technology they will be able to work more independently and in a more calm and quiet environment This will enable them to accomplish their goals.

With your help and generosity my students will be able to listen to online reading and phonics programs, they will be able to listen to audio books, create powerful PowerPoint presentations which incorporate sound, create movies and so much more. Thank you in advance for any help you can give.
