This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our classroom is full of imaginative and knowledge-hungry students. More than three quarters of the students are from low income households. They all have different living conditions.
With all that is going on in the world, my students look forward to school.
My Project
After these past two years, students in our classes are in different math and reading levels. Differentiating instruction is the best way to include all students at their comfort level.
Some of our students have needs where text needs to be read to them.
Having headphones to use would help them advance and participate with the rest of their classmates. Students with lower reading levels can feel shy when they are not able to follow along with their classmates. Allowing them to be able to listen to the text using headphones, apart from the teacher reading it aloud, will allow them to achieve participation in group work.
We also have newcomers in our classroom who are learning the English language. Having the text read to them is a great resource.
