Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is located in a low socio-economic area. Our students are curious, smart, and funny. Many are second language learners. My school has added 6th and 7th grade units this year and we are working to gather middle school resources.

My students work hard in the classroom and love working on our laptop computers!

My students use a few computer applications that help them learn to speak, read, and write in English. We then practice these skills in the classroom through group discussions.

My Project

My students are English language learners. As such, they need more time listening to and speaking the English language at their own pace. We use several online software applications that give my English learners the additional practice they need.

Right now, we have only two headphone/microphone sets in the classroom that work.

As a result, my students are not able to use online applications as frequently as they should.

The headphones I am asking for in this project will allow groups of my students to practice their English skills at the same time. This way, they can acquire English skills quicker and will help them be successful.
