My Students

My students are starting to read books on their own! Help open a world of imagination by helping us purchase books for our listening center!

My students attend a school where 75% of them are on free or reduced lunch.

My students don't have the opportunities that a lot of kids their age have. Many of them don't even have a secure home life to go home to each night. School is the only stability that they have. The simplest things make them so happy.

My Project

My students love to go to the listening center. The problem is we do not have many books on CD. If we had more books on CD, my students would be able to read along while the CD was reading to them. The listening center allows them to see the words that are being read on the CD. The books I have chosen will spark the children's imaginations and inspire them to want to read more and maybe even write their own vivid stories.

This is important because many of my students do not have the family support they need at home to encourage reading.

I am hoping to inspire my students to want to learn to read so they can better themselves and grow up to be whatever they want to be.
