My Students

I have the privilege of teaching science to 6th - 8th graders in northwest Washington, D.C. My students love science! We do as many hands-on activities that we can and integrating technology in the classroom exposes them to more content and current issues.

My students are amazing little scientists and nurturing their innate curiosity is the best part of my job.

They enjoy working together as they learn about the world. Videos and interactive labs tend to be their favorite. With the world always evolving, I expose my students to real world scenarios and problems to spark their engineering minds because I know they will be the ones to solve them.

My Project

Many of my students do well working independently and when watching videos/interviews/interactive labs. With COVID-19, students are less likely to work in groups as well. Providing each student with their own pair of headphones will allow them to work in stations and listen more closely to things on the computer.

Students are encouraged to use the read aloud option on their devices and headphones will help them listen without being distracted from the sound of others.

Headphones increase time on task for most students, especially those that struggle to stay on task. These headphones will make a huge difference for my kiddos.
