This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Every day my kindergarten students rotate through various literacy centers. This year I would like to begin incorporating a books on Cd listening center. A listening center would benefit my students by modeling fluent reading, helping to teach listening skills & stamina, providing a read aloud model, and introducing new vocabulary words.
A listening center will not only help my students grow in reading, but it will also be fun and engaging.
I believe students will be very excited and motivated to listen and read books on tape which will eventually transfer to them reading with their on their own and with their peers independently through the listening center!
