Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are excited to learn new things everyday! They love books and many are discovering their abilities as readers and writers. Its amazing to see them discover their abilities in reading and writing.

My students come from diverse backgrounds.

They are eager to learn. They love to listen to stories by the teacher, by each other and by following along in read along book. My school is a dual immersion school where students are learning Spanish as their second or third language.

My Project

My students love listening to stories. The few stories that we currently have are on cassette tapes that are damaged and unusable. My students will be excited to listen to stories that can be heard clearly. By listening along students are practicing a variety of reading skills. They practice reading tracking the text, they listen to the proper pronunciation of the words, they read in the correct direction and they listen to the correct rhythm of the language.

This project will provide my students a library of Spanish books with CD's.

By having these books with CD available to students it provides them with a different way of learning about words, sentences and stories.
