Listening Center Books and Cds

My Students

I love our Kinder Kits at Treaty Rock! Our mascot is the fox so we are the Kinder kits! There are 3 regular kindergarten classes and then some of the kids stay all day to be in my room for extra help in reading. They are so excited and eager to learn and be at school! They are what I love about teaching.

My Project

During our centers my students spend time reading books with me, practicing reading skills with games and hands-on materials, and listening to reading at our listening center. I only have about 10 books on cd right now and my kids would really appreciate a variety. There are many benefits to kids listening to books on cd. The kids can work on reading with expression from listening to an experienced reader and they can work on tracking the print as they listen. Additionally, while the students are engaged in their work at the listening center I am able to focus on reading with my small group of kids. Adding to my listening center library will help my kids to work independently during our reading block. Thanks for reading about my project!
