This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in a very high needs school in the Bronx. We have limited access to learning tools and books. I am looking for ways to make learning more accessible to my students. They are an exciting group of mixed interest, abilities, and goals. Some of my students are reading above their grade level, and others are struggling to sound out words and make meaning of what they are reading.

These projects will allow me to bring exciting and educational projects to the families in our school community, to foster the love of learning and expose them to new ideas.

With your help, I can make my students more well rounded in all subject areas.

My Project

This project will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy. Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time.

These books spark a level of interest and learning for my Second graders!

Students can sit and read fiction and nonfiction books of interest no matter what level they are in reading. This will help students this year grow so much as readers and we need your help to continue to do so!
