My Students

Our Kindergarten students love listening to stories! As beginning readers they are learning how to track, turn pages at the appropriate times, and comprehend stories. “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.” ― Dr. Seuss, I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!

My kindergarten students are lively, enthusiastic, and curious learners.

They love story time and interacting with literature. One of their favorite things to do is retell stories and role play the varying characters. Our school has a rich history as it is over 50 years old. It is also somewhat antiquated in resources as it is difficult to keep up with the changes and modifications with a mature school site. Our school has over 500 students and 75 of these students are kindergarten students. At times, our classrooms hold 48 kindergarten students at a time!

My Project

My students will enjoy the Wireless Headphones at the listening center. They will be able to sit comfortably and not tangled by the headphone wires. It will also allow students to spread out as our room has to accommodate 48 students at a time. The Wireless Headphones will also promote independence as it is an activity that students can participate in by themselves. My students will be able to practice tracking, turning pages with the story, practice retelling stories, and improve reading comprehension.

The donation to my classroom will help my students enjoy literature all the time and not just when the teacher can read to them.

It will also develop literacy skills in my young learners. The Wireless Headphones will change my students' lives by promoting a classroom that respects and promotes reading daily in the classroom.
